Toyota's guide separates a normal schedule from extra services for severe or special operating conditions. The extras are not optional add-ons for everyone. Perform them only if most of your driving is under the condition listed. Occasional dirt roads or one towing trip do not count.

Driving in heavy traffic, on dirt roads or in dusty or desert areas can shorten its life, so replace it sooner if airflow drops or the windows fog easily.

When are the spark plugs on a Toyota Prius due?

The 2024 guide lists spark plug replacement at 120,000 miles (144 months).

Does the Toyota Prius schedule change if I tow or drive on dirt roads?

Yes. Toyota prints an extra list for special operating conditions: dirt or dusty roads and towing, roof carrier or heavy loads. Only follow it if most of your driving matches. The severe-use extras are in the table above under each mileage.

Is the Toyota Prius schedule different for AWD or 4WD?

Yes. The drive shaft nut (awd) and rear differential oil items in the table apply to AWD and 4WD models only. Two-wheel-drive models skip them.
