How the Honda Maintenance Minder works
Instead of a printed table of mileages, Honda's newer models track engine oil life and show a service code on the dash when work is due. The maintenance items appear when the remaining oil life reaches 15%. At 5% the message becomes Due Now, and once the car has been driven more than 10 miles past zero it blinks a negative distance and is marked Past Due.

- If a Maintenance Minder message does not appear more than 12 months after the display is reset, change the engine oil every year.
- If you drive in dusty conditions, replace the air cleaner element every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
- If you drive primarily in urban areas with high concentrations of soot in the air from industry and diesel-powered vehicles, replace the dust and pollen filter every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
- Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds results in higher transmission temperatures. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these conditions, have the transmission fluid changed every 25,000 miles (40,000 km).
- Applies to models with a rear differential (AWD); check your owner's manual for your trim.
- If a Maintenance Minder indicator does not appear more than 36 months after the display for item 7 is reset, change the brake fluid every 3 years.
A dash code combines a letter with digits: B12 means main item B plus sub items 1 and 2.

About these schedules
Every interval comes from a manufacturer document linked on the model page. This is a reference, not a substitute for your owner's manual. Confirm anything that matters against the booklet for your exact vehicle and year. Data last checked 2026-09-20.
Frequently asked questions
Does Honda have a maintenance schedule by mileage?
Not as a fixed table in the guides we have read. Honda uses the Maintenance Minder, which calculates remaining oil life from how the engine is used and shows a code when service is due.
What is the difference between code A and code B?
Code A replaces the engine oil. Code B replaces the engine oil and oil filter and adds inspections of the brakes, tie rod ends, steering gearbox and boots, suspension, driveshaft boots, brake hoses and lines, fluid levels, exhaust and fuel lines.
What do the numbers after A or B mean?
They are sub items. 1 is a tire rotation, 2 is the air cleaner element, dust and pollen filter and a drive belt inspection, 3 is transmission fluid, 4 is spark plugs and valve clearance, 5 is engine coolant, 6 is rear differential fluid where fitted, and 7 is brake fluid.
